The Diskurs Festival is one of the oldest festivals for young artists in Europe. Organized on a yearly basis by students of the Theatre Applied Studies department of the Giessen University, it skillfully interweaves various forms of performing arts. Events such as panel discussions and public debates foster the constructive exchange between artists presenting their works, the public visiting/taking part in them, students of the University and this year's members of an exceptionally constructed atelier07.

SIX MONTHS ONE LOCATION

The following text is the first draft of a project initiated by Xavier Le Roy and Bojana Cvejic. The history of the project dates from a working group which emerged during MODE05, conference on education in dance and performance held in Potsdam in march 2005. The conference followed an open-source logic of taking part, contributing and shaping discussion in immediate ways on the basis of direct involvement, where topics and interest/working groups arose, assembled and disintegrated daily. Six Months One Location is the offspring of one of these formations, and it continued to develop into a project, which will be realized in 2008.

Research: What we use in our teaching and why Print

The following paper is the result of a two week research at the Tanzquartier Wien in april 2005. A group of 6 teachers, Gill Clarke (GB), DD Dorvillier (USA), Inge Kaindlstorfer (A), Eva Karczag (H/NL), Martin Sonderkamp (D/TUR), and Oleg Soulimenko (RUS/A) explored their approaches to teaching and through a process of talking, moving, watching, and writing, began to tease out why these approaches are important to them.
