THIS TEXT IS NOT IMPORTANT
I have no strategy. I don't aim for a certain effect and I don't know what I see myself doing in the future. I have no preconceived ideas. Often I don't feel adequate with exisiting processes and structures of artisitc production and I don't want to survive by "producing art". I don't want to gather a set of tricks, develop strategies or an artisitc language. I don't consider words and images the most significant bearers of meaning and means of communication. I wish to find ways to diminish the ego. Is it possible to make work without reflecting on yourself, without concentrating on yourself at all? Rhythm, energy, sound, movement and presence (how it feels, not how it looks) are important.
What does it mean to be successful? And is it important? Will I end up applying for money for a project in order to survive and support myself or my children? Are we as artists quoting life and abstracting it in our works? Why is there no need for such an effort in Antarctica?
This text is not important and inefficient. This text is not important and is on a website. Where is this text? It doesn't have a summary or an introduction. It doesn't provide any answers. It doesn't explain and it doesn't present eloquency, knowledge or witty remarks. It is not successful. I keep on producing words now.
Where is theatre? There is no objective „theatre“. It is not a set of history, theory or thoughts. Theatre is not about theatre. Theatre is a means, but is not the goal. It is a means to learn. Then it doesn't really matter to have a strategy (or a conscious, developed strategy), because there is no goal. The only important thing is to stay alert, alive, to have intention and awareness. And let go of preconceived images of yourself and the world. Let go of the thing you know, because you know it already. Let go of something that works, because it doesn't need you anymore.
