Jan Machacek: close-up landmarks 3

Ich arbeite gerade mit Martin Siewert (Musik), Anat Stainberg (Performance), Radostina Patulova (inhaltlicher Input) und Judith Staudinger (dramaturgische Beratung) an „close-up land“, einer Medienperformance in Anlehnung an Michelangelo Antonionis „Blow-up“ (1966). Der Film beschreibt die Konstruktion von Wirklichkeit im Medium der Fotografie und des Films. „close-up land“ versucht dieses Motiv auf die zeitliche und räumliche Achse einer Performance zu setzen. Dabei interessieren mich Methoden der Archivierung wie das Microfiche-Verfahren. Eine Microfichefolie speichert auf 13 x 9 cm bis zu 50 A-4 Seiten in extremer Verkleinerung. Durch ein Lesegerät – eine Art Steinzeitcomputer – wird ein kleiner Ausschnitt der Folie auf einen Schirm projiziert und sichtbar gemacht. Plötzlich kommt eine mit freiem Auge nicht sichtbare und technisch vermittelte Bildebene ins Spiel.

Für meine Präsenz auf corpusweb will ich eine (Mikrofiche)Folie zu „close-up land“ erstellen. Über 2 Monate montiere ich Fundstücke der ersten Arbeitsschritte in starker Verkleinerung neben einander:
Fotos der Probenarbeit mit Martin Siewert und Anat Stainberg, Notizen der Gespräche mit Radostina Patulova und Judith Staudinger, visuelle Ideen und Gedanken, die uns aktuell beschäftigen.

I am currently working on “close-up land”, a media performance based on Michelangelo Antonioni's “Blow-up” (1966), together Martin Siewert (music), Anat Stainberg (performance), Radostina Patulova (input regarding content) and Judith Staudinger (dramaturgical advice). The film describes the construction of reality in the medium of photography and film. “close-up land” tries to graft this motif onto the temporal and spatial axes of a performance. Here, I'm interested in methods of archiving like the microfiche technique. A microfiche foil can save up to 50 extremely downsized A4 pages on a page of 13 by 9 cm. A reading device – a kind of stone-age computer – projects a small excerpt of the foil onto a screen, thus making it visible again. Suddenly, a technically mediated image layer invisible to the naked eye comes into play.  

For my presence on corpusweb I want to create a (microfiche) foil on “close-up land”. For a duration of 2 months, I will mount found objects of the first working steps in highly miniaturised form next to each other: Photos of the rehearsal work with Martin Siewert and Anat Stainberg, notes from discussions with Radostina Patulova and Judith Staudinger, visual ideas and thoughts we are currently engaged in.
