For the Viennese demons: Sabina, Helmut, Jack
Afterlife
Be contaminated at the end of the world: to carry death in you before the end, this death that will never come to life, that will extinguish before being lit.
Is there innocence of nature, or nothing but the brutal inertia of crime, petrified violence? Life, the crime to pay for.
Life is nothing but degeneration of matter – an epiphenomenon of the monstrous confusion, of the inertia of matter where everything boils, as in Hell.
Pandora: death will come as this child, wild innocence who knows everything.
One day we will be back to collect and to reassemble the atoms of this world. To resurrect the dead. But who knows? It might well be that, even if capable of doing it, we would decide that it is not worth the effort, not again.
Hell
And for the Chinese demons…
Hell is a place where everything you create, you create it by yourself and you create it alone.
Hell is a place where each form has the right measure and measures exactly what it is.
Hell is a place where there is no distinction between lightness and hardness.
Hell is a place where there is no other life in reserve.
Hell is a place where you are what you do.
Hell is a place where things are precisely what they are, and there is no promise of becoming something else.
But Hell is also a place where fire never makes ashes.
Hell is a place where black coal is light and burns eternally.
Hell is a place where agitation never stops.
Fire
What is the matter of Hell’s fire? Why is it burning? Is there fire in Heaven, or only light?
To burn means to transform matter. Heaven is the realm of eternal saved forms. Therefore, there should be no transformation in Heaven. There should be no body-matter.
Is there transformation in Heaven?
Time
There should be time no more.
Is the eternity of Paradise of the same origin as the eternity of Hell? If it was, how then would the infernal transformation – the dunamis of torture, of punishment, of pain – be possible? Infernal eternity is an eternity + 1.
The Infernal Thing
There is something in Hell. Hell is not a hollow space, a giant cosmic shell, a metaphysical de-solation.
The relief of Hell supposes a mass, a dynamic of transformation: fire. Does the infernal fire come from the actus purus of the skies, and if so, how is it possible that it is co-simultaneous to it, that it differs from it and that consequently it injects it with the demonic scarcity of the substance being split?
There is a Thing, a presence, a there is. Hell is this: there is.
New Proverb of Hell
Heaven is a space of exclusion. Hell is a space of inclusion.
Paradoxes of Hell
Demons, as punishers, are active: they have to operate transformative acts. Sinners have to have kept their bodies in order to be in pain, to be subjects of the punishment. Their identity is at stake, they are present in themselves, and they are present in themselves as sensual matter. Therefore, they are subjects. Also, even if their punishment was not physical but purely spiritual, and even if hell was nothing but an immense forgery, factory or fiction, an allegorical super-machine(ry), how then to explain that sinners, stuck in their identities, at the stake of their identities, feel pain at all? For, in order to feel pain, they need critical (ethical) distance, therefore difference – they need to step out of their stake to see themselves through the eternal non-altered eyes of truth. But if so, then how could they step-into-truth, to make eternity+1, and if they find themselves in the place of truth, how/why should they step out? Why should they re-iterate the infernal split? And maybe this repetition is the proper movement of hell, but if so, then hell is the movement corrupting eternal truth, it is an alteration of eternal truth, it is the punishment of truth. The possibilities if punishment punishes truth.
The Body of Hell
Hell is a body, an organic geology. Hell is invented as a body, the body of excessive invention, of inflamed brain, with thought quicker than nightmares of light, a space of intensity, where interiority and exteriority are confused. A porous landscape in which fire extends its flaming matters.
The Autonomy of Organs
That is why organs in Hell achieve a state of disorganisation, of unimaginable autonomy where they step out of themselves. Organs liberated from their functional deficiencies, from their ergonomies. Pure forms, pure energies, pure dunamics.
Hell is the place where images are demonically free, where imagination creates form, where a new anomic world begins.
Hell is anarchic space.
The Last Philosopher
Hell is the place where – when thought will be entirely erased from the surface of the earth – the last philosopher will emigrate. At the dark bottom of the infernal pit, formless, half frozen body, with half frozen, half boiling brain, he will persist in the last thought. The last judgment will be his.
The last philosopher is not the one who terminates but the one who persists in the end.
Hell is the home of the last thought.
