Martin Nachbar has studied the dance of Dore Hoyer for nine years. In his work “Urheben Aufheben”, Nachbar staged Hoyer's Affectos Humanos which includes short dances of vanity, of desire, of fear, of hate and of love. Reconstructing a dance of another time is difficult. One can restage the choreography but cannot recreate the circumstances the work was in. However, Martin Nachbar found an interesting combined format of demonstrating Hoyer's dances with his "making of” in which he describes his path and approach to her dance. The day after the premiere of “Urheben Aufheben” at brut wien, I spoke with him at the apartment he was staying at during his visit to Vienna. This is a part of our talk.   MM

THOMAS FRANK UND HAIKO PFOST ZUM GELEGE EINER NEUEN WIENER BRUT

Performance, Theater, Tanz, Ausstellung, Party, Lecture, Film, Live-Konzerte, Installationen, Teppichkracher, DJs und Blasmusik: mit einem dichten Programmarathon, der nicht unter 36 Stunden dauert, eröffnet brut im Künstlerhaus mit brut im Konzerthaus am 9. November 2007. In der hektischen Voreröffnungswoche, in der das Haus am Karlsplatz voll positiver Energie vibrierte, fanden die Leiter der neuen Wiener Performance-Brutstätte Haiko Pfost und Thomas Frank Zeit für ein Gespräch mit corpus-Autorin Elke Krasny. Abgeschottet vom quirligen Trubel sprachen sie bei Kaffee und Wasser am langen Holztisch der brut-Küche über ihre kollektive Arbeitsweise und künstlerische Notwendigkeiten, über Hochglanzkultur und den Wiener Karlsplatz, das neue Verhältnis zwischen den Generationen, die Ablehnung des Pseudocoolen, die Verflüssigung von starren Dichotomien, den Gründungsmythos ihrer Namensfindung und warum es wichtig ist, an dem Ort zu leben, an dem man arbeitet.
